Happy Christmas Jumper day! – Save the Children’s Campaign – 14 December
Today, people up and down the country will be wearing a Christmas jumper to raise money for Save the Children’s life-changing work with the world’s poorest children. You can still get involved – ask colleagues and friends to donate to save children’s lives across the world.
Please share your ‘you in a Christmas jumper’ photos on facebook and twitter using the hashtag #xmasjumperday
Together, we can help more children
Here are just a few of the amazing things your money can do:
£29 can pay for a course of emergency food supplements to save the life of a severely malnourished child.
£100 can buy 50 warm blankets for babies suffering from deadly pneumonia.
£500 can train five health workers to identify illnesses and treat sick children
Note:
Save the Children are the country’s biggest programme for children, with the greatest reach and impact; in 2010 they directly helped 277,000 children. They also train community volunteers to assess and treat the three killers diseases: diarrhoea, pneumonia and malaria.
